Virtu underwriting approached Thin Martian in order to build a product for brokers to issue and manage insurance quotes providing cover for fine art and antiques.
Development (React & Ruby-On-Rails)
The concept combines a picture frame and the accent of the letter U. portraying the idea of art and at the same time convey strength and trust through the use of the square.
Quote and bind process
Seeing as a large amount of the product was filling in forms it was important that we streamlined the experience as much as possible for the end user.
After carrying out a UX workshop with the client we had a picture of what they wanted to design. We then set out to build a semi- functional prototype which the client could use to gain further funding. This not only solidified ideas for the client and our team but allowed us to accurately scope out the MVP build.
After the success of the prototype, RT Insurance asked Thin Martian to proceed with the full MVP project build.
Whilst the UX phase was underway another arm of the design team began to develop the brand identity for the product. It had to be modern and trustworthy. The Virtu brand name utilised an accent on the ‘u’. This was therefore developed into a brand mark that combined with a square gave connotations of trust and stability.
