Design of an ipad app for use by the BA cabin crew which replaced a longstanding and complex paper process. Translating it into a streamlined digital experience.

We conducted user interviews with the crew and pilots to determine the salient information. The app reduced huge reams of paper into an easy to use interface. Using colour coding and iconography to easily surface important data. We worked with their backend teams to connect the app with the flight data from BA.

An app with ‘first class’ design

Here was a real opportunity to make life simpler for pilots and cabin crew, but only if they were prepared to get on board. Our app design had to be intuitive, easy to use and present a lot of information in an easily digestible way. We created bespoke iconography and used infographics to convey data clearly and highlight salient points.

Beautiful & Practical

The design worked, transforming the way cabin crew access pre-flight information. The app looks great, too. We commissioned photography of the British Airways First Class area and honed in on certain features to form interesting backgrounds for screens within the app.
